This rather unusual / uncommon book is a Cape 1st edition with red boards rather than the usual black ones. Note this is not a re-bound book, but one produced by Jonathan Cape with their name on the spine. Only a small number of these advanced binding copies were produced and nearly all were supplied to libraries so few survive although the copy photographed has no signs of being used as a library book so may have been used as a press review copy. Copies have also been found with green boards - if you have such a copy please get in touch. The dust jacket for this book is identical to those supplied with the normal 1st edition except that the corners are not clipped. This is different from the proof edition dust jacket. Copies of Diamonds Are Forever can also be found with advance bindings.
