Editions and variants found in our collections
9th edition 1962 has yellow 007 band to bottom and G198 to spine. Copies have been found with:
- 2'6 printed to the front cover
- Unpriced (found in Australia)
There are two different versions of the 10th printing with the most obvious difference being the list of previous books. One version lists Moonraker through to Goldfinger and the other also lists For Your Eyes Only. The list of adverts at the back also differs.
10th edition 1962 with list of previous books ending in Goldfinger has yellow 007 band and G198 to spine. Examples have been found with:
- 2’6 printed to the cover
- 2’6 sticker to front cover
- Unpriced
10th edition 1962 with list of previous books ending in For Your Eyes Only has yellow 007 band and G198 to spine. Examples have been found with:
- 2’6 printed to the cover
- Unpriced
11th edition - no copy has been found that says 11th edition at the end of the list of printings. Given there are two different 10th editions and two different 12 editions it seems probable that one of these was really the 11th printing.
Two different 12th editions have however been found:
12th edition 1963 has yellow band with G198 to spine. The list of printings says “12th Printing 1963” priced at 2’6 printed to cover, some copies re-priced with a label to 3’6
12th edition (reset) 1963 has yellow band with
X232 to spine. The list of printings says “12th Printing (reset) 1963. No GREAT PAN on cover and revised Pan Logo. All examples found have 3’6 printed to the cover.
