General Notes
Collectors notes
There are no specific issues surrounding the jacket and finding one in good condition is not difficult. Aside from the standard first edition, check if your copy is one of the following variants:
- Around 1% of the first editions have the gun design embossed onto the front boards. These copies are highly prized by collectors and can increase the value of the book by 100x. For more information see: The Man With The Golden Gun (with embossed gun)
- Around 10% of the first editions have plain white end papers rather than the green marbled ones. It is assumed that when production first started the marbled end papers were not ready so these copies represent the earliest 1st editions. Copies of this variant carry a premium over the standard 1st edition.
- Half title reset. See photo. Found only in 1st copies exported to Canada. Copies of this variant carry a premium over the standard 1st edition.
