Although there are plenty of copies in circulation it is a surprisingly difficult book to find in fine condition. The main issue is the spine of the dust jacket, the red titles tend to fade and the lighter areas darken. The design on the front has a sheet of paper that wraps around onto the spine. It is not unusual for this to darken to the point where it is not visible on the spine. The copy shown in the photograph is better than many in this respect.
Fleming signed a number of copies of this book for Count Robin de La Lanne-Mirrlees as a thank you for his help with the book. These copies seem to be 2nd editions.
